1. A camera cell phone would be great in a car accident. Capture the evidence immediately. I used my cell phone recently to photograph my classroom set-up when I had to empty my room for new carpet installation. When I was wedding dress shopping with my daughter, it was easy to take pictures of her in various dresses and then compare them later.

3. I'm picturing the same car accident I mentioned earlier. While I'm taking pictures of the accident, the other party becomes angry--enraged even. I try to take a picture of his rage, but he grabs my cell phone, smashes to the ground and comes after me. I wonder if that's ever happened.

4. Currently, cameras are supposed to be banned at my gym. I certainly do not want my picture taken in that environment!

1. You see something funny and you don't have a camera on you. Someone tries to harass you, you can capture their identity. If you get in a car accident, you have a handy way to immediately capture the damage.
2. It could be a problem if you were going to a first come first serve standing room only concert where cameras of all types weren't allowed, meaning you would have to put your phone away, in your car, etc and risk losing you place in line.
3. A camera phone could have caught OJ.
4. A situation where I would not be comfortable where many people around me had camera phones would be at a restaurant. I would not be comfortable because if I needed to go to the bathroom, someone could come in and take a picture of me, thus invading my privacy.

If I had a camera on my cell phone I could 1) take a picture of an acident 2) take a picture of a house I wanted to show my husband 3) take a picture of something I want to share with my sister in Texas.

History..I think of 911.

Socially I worry about privacy or using the picture in a not so good way.

I could take picture of my kids in various activities, something I want my husband to see but he's not with me, examples of anything you might want to do in any situation.
2. People can take picture of improtant information you don't want revealed(credit card numbers, bank numbers)
3. If someone had a camera phone at OJ Simpsons house he would have been found guilty.
4. You could be susceptible to identity theft. I also do not like my picture being taken.

USEFUL
1. Very helpful when inspecting rooms at the Bachelor Housing complex (Barracks). Residents that have safety discrepancies or sanitary problems can be identified later
2. When on vacation, great shots at your fingertips.
3. Catch a moment in time without having to locate a camera and power it up.

PROBLEMS
People taking pictures of your credit card number at the checkout line.

CHANGE HISTORY
Crime stoppers: If someone took a picture of Robert Blake outside his wifes car with a weapon.

SOCIAL SITUATION
With cell phone cameras snapping pictures, I may be caught in a compromising situation without knowing a picture is being taken. EX: Men's room, napping with drool on bottom lip.

1) Cell phone cameras have been used in the past to take pictures of crimes and criminals. Cameras are also used now as a form of "real world" journalism such as what took place during the shootings at Virginia Tech. Realtors can use camera phones to send pictures of a home, lawns or even certain sections of a document to help their seller or buyer make better decisions.
2)Like any new technology, camera phones can be misused. I have seen motorists snapping pictures while driving. But perhaps the most malicious acts are caused by people who take upskirt pictures and post such pictures online. In many court cases, these people are allowed to keep their sites because those pictures were taken in public.
3)If only the Egyptians had camera phones we might have a better grasp on how the pyramids were built.
4) I am perfectly fine in a situation where people have camera phones. It is comforting to know that if something were to happen, such as an act of police brutality, that it would be documented and everyone could know the story.

Although cell phone camara's are controversial to some, As you can see in various stories, they can help in some situations. I use my cell phone camara to capture my own memories. In addition, my cell phone camara has given me an opportunity to take pictures of things that are significant in my life. In all, I have had good experiences with my cell phone camara.

#1. I've used the camera on my cell phone to take pictures of a product and price that I wanted to buy so I would remember it. I've also taken pictures of my kids at the holidays and sent them to other family members.
It would also be useful if I sighted a famouse person and could take a picture with them.
#4.
I am nervous with a camera in social situations with the "upskirting" pictures that people take and post on the web site. I'd be nervous if a person had their camera phone out while in the restroom or changing room at a clothing store.

I believe that overall it is beneficial to have a camera on your cell phone. I personally have taken many pictures on my cell phone camera that have been both entertaining and useful. For example, last Christmas time, my mother-in-law got into a car accident in a mall parking lot. No one happened to have a camera handy, however, I had my camera phone and was able to document certain images from the incident location, including damage done to both vehicles. Another benefit to having a camera phone is the ability to share images in an instant with many family and friends. I was unable to attend my nephew's third birthday party, and my little sister sent me a "pix message" of him faceplanting in his cake. As odd as this one might sound, a cell phone camera has also helped me with computer problems. I was getting the "blue screen of death" and took a picture of it, messaged it to one of my techie friends, and he was able to help me fix my computer from hundreds of miles away.

Problems can be caused by camera phones due to a decreasing lack of privacy. I'm sure at least a few students in this class have been made aware of the issue of teenage boys using camera phones to take inappropriate pictures of their female classmates at formal dances. Camera phones are small and relatively inconspicuous. I have heard of instances where a camera phone was used to capture credit card images and numbers and those images were used to create false cards and contributed to identity theft.

An historical instance which could have been changed with a camera phone could be a host of political issues such as Tiannamen Square. If camera phones were around at the time, we would possibly know the outcome of the student verses tank image.

A camera on a cell phone could be useful any time when a regular camera is not available : the scene of a car accident, a special event, or to show something to someone.
A camera on a cell phone could cause problems when used inappropriately such as at the gym or in bathrooms/changing rooms.
A time in history that could have been changed by a camera phone would have been the Columbus’s “discovery” of America.
I feel comfortable in social situations where camera phones are present because almost everyone I know owns and uses a camera phone.

Taking pictures with your cell phone can be useful when you want to take a impromtu photo of your kids having fun and then sending to Grandparents. Capturing a beautiful sunset, or if you need to remember what a sign said.
2. Could cause problems with invasion of privacy.
3.If someone had a cell phone camara when JFK was shot. I wouldn't be comfortable if someone took my picture with out me my permission.

1. Having a camera on your cell phone could be useful in emergency situations, sending photos to friends and family for quick communication, and its fun.
2. It could be an invasion of ones privacy if used the wrong way.
3. If you were a witness to a crime and could have easily took a picture of the criminal.
4. I would probably feel fine in a social situation with my friends where a cell phone camera was present, though in a public setting with people I do not know I would feel as though them taking pictures was an invasion of my privacy.

One way a camera phone is useful is, to capture cute things the kids I teach do at any moment. The second useful thing is to capture any beautiful moment I see, when I am not expecting it, and don't have my camera. And the third way a camera phone is useful is, to document something that happened, such as a car accident.
A way a camera phone could cause a problem would be, if a stranger secretly put the phone under a girls skirt and took a picture without her knowledge.
A time in history would have been different if there was a camera phone would be when ...........

I would not be comfortable with a camera phone during a doctors visit.

It is useful to have a cell phone camera to capture unexpected moments like a child doing something cute or for documenting information quickly like taking a snapshot of a liscence plate on a hit-and-run car. Cell phone cameras can be annoying because people whip them out at inappropriate times or try to push in close to an event or sight to get a semi-decent photo. They also create privacy and security concerns because people with them are always prepared to take a photo without drawing attention to themselves. Pictures can also be misinterpurted and are not "factual evidence" like some people assume. As for history, anytime where people needed photographic "proof" to make their point would be changed by a camera phone. I would be uncomfortable if strangers were using camera phones to take pictures of me and my family. Danielle Orner

First of all, having a camera on a cell phone would be useful when a crime is taking place. Another instance would be when you want to capture a special moment with friends or family. Also, having a camera on a cell phone would be useful if you want to take a picture of something you may want to purchase from a store at a later time.
However, a camera could also cause problems, such as with privacy issues. A person may be walking down a street and a person may take a picture of them without asking. In addition, it could also cause problems if a person is in a store and they take pictures of a famous person.
This invention could have changed history when Abraham Lincoln was shot.
I would not be comfortable if I were in a gym locker room in which there were open showers or bathroom stalls and people had their camera phones.

I think that having a camera on your phone can be benfical because it makes it so you can capture a moment anytime since almost everyone has a cell phone with them at all times. I also think that it is easier to carry one device instead of having to carry both a camera and a cell phone. Lastly, I think it is a good feature to be able to have pictures that you can show family and friends at such easy access.
I think that one problem with cameras on cellphones is that most pictures I have seen are not great quality. Being a picture person I do not like having pictures that don't print well. Also the smaller phones get the easier it would be for someone to be snapping pictures of you without your knowledge. I believe that there have been cases where people have taken cellphones with cameras into the bathrooms and taken inappropiate pictures.
A time when a camera phone could have changed history is in a hit and run a person could take a picture of the license plate easier than write the numbers of the license plate down.
As I said above I think that camera phones can be scary because people could be snapping pictures of you without your knowledge.

1. One way having a camera on my cell phone could be useful is that it captures a moment that might otherwise not be captured. Another way is to make an honest woman out of me if someone does not belive what it was that took place. If I have a camera phone there will be no argument. One final way is for convienence. I would much rather carry around a small device that is virtually necessary in everyday life than a bulky camera.

2. However, it could cause problems in several ways; invading peoples' privacy and capturing forbidden images.

3. There are numerous ways in which history could have been changed had someone had a camera phone. Many cases of here-say could have been solved with the simple snap on one's phone.

4. I would not be comfortable with several people around me having the ability to take an image of me without my knowing.

I've found my camera phone useful because I can capture a picture anywhere, anytime, when I don't have a regular camera acessible to me. My camera phone has come in handy when I wanted a picture with a friend to store in my phone, when I'm driving and want to catch an unexpected sunset that I just have to save as my camera's wallpaper, or to email my boyfriend a picture of me on Christmas when he was deployed overseas.

Cell phone cameras can cause problems because I find them distracting when students like to use them in class, I also don't like knowing that anyone could snap a picture of me without my knowing, and they also take away our right to privacy, since so many people have them. You never know when you may be caught on camera.

The historical event I think of is the shooting of JFK, had someone has a camera phone, they may have gotten a picture of the killer.

I would be uncomfortable around camera phones in a situation that would be normally kept private, such as a classroom environment where we normally focus on learning and not wondering if someone is going around taking pictures.

1. Cell phone cameras can accurately depict live action as its happening. It also allows instant feedback: you take a picture, send it to somebody and they instantly see what you see. Lastly, cell phone cameras can be used to catch something that may never happen again: person streaking, dog walking on two legs, etc.

2. Cell phone cameras can cause lots of problems, especially in school. Kids could cheat with them, take pictures of other people without them knowing, and import pictures to sites like myspace without consent of the individual.

4. I have always been against the use of cell phone cameras. I was a little upset that you can't even buy a phone without a camera anymore. In social situations, cameras can be so annoying when used improperly because they catch anything and everything without anybody knowing. They are everywhere and they are annoying (but I guess, under certain circumstances they could be useful).

1. Having a camera on your cell phone can be useful to take a picture of somebody's license plate if they are involved in a hit and run. It can also be useful to document an important and unexpected event. My favorite use for a cell phone was mentioned in the article. I love to use it for my 'virtual wallet photos' to show off my pictures of friends, families and pets.

2. Having a cell phone camera could cause problems when other peoples' privacy is being invaded.

3. History might have been changed if somebody had a camera phone onboard one of the flights on 9/11.

4. I would be comfortable because I have nothing to hide.

1. (1). To capture critical information/data such as a license plate number. (2). To capture important events when you have forgotten your digital camera. (3). To take pictures to use for a picture directory on your cell phone

2. Some places of employment, in particular where you have special security clearances, do not allow phones with cameras.

3.

4.I personally don't feel uncomfortable with perople using camera phones although, there have been times when I have "celebrated" and the photos that might have been taken would not have been the prettiest sight. The problem is trusting those with camera phones not to try to discredit or defame you with any "compromising" photo.

1. Having a camera cell phone is perfect for capturing precious moments with the family friends. When travelling abroad I find it comes in handy. Camera cells also come in handy in emergency situations like car accidents. It documents the exact time, date, and visually details the accident for proof. Camera cells are great for showing pictures of family to long-lost friends when you bump into on them on the street when you least expect to!
2. I'm always leary of strangers holding up cell phones at the beach. Yikes! Camera cells can be used to cheat on tests. Students can take pictures of notes and then go into the phone during the test.
3.
4. A locker room is a horrible place for a cell phone.

I agree with the comment about identity theft being a problem. I had not even thought of that as being an issue with camera phones. I also think that would be a neat way to show a house.

I agree with the phone being a very useful tool to have at all times. However, there are certain times that are private and should not be documented for anyone and everyone to see. This goes with all technology, there are good and bad things to all sides and the new advances should not be misused.
